A health leave of absence may be appropriate when a student needs time away from school for treatment of a physical or mental health condition that impairs their ability to function safely and successfully as a member of our community. The Voluntary Health Leave Process is coordinated by the Health Leave Team in Campus Support and Intervention. A health leave coordinator will meet with each student individually to guide them through the process and help them to develop and implement a plan that will facilitate their recovery and return to school. By participating in the process, students can receive additional and personalized support, both while setting up their leave and upon their return to the university.

Students interested in taking a health leave can contact Campus Support and Intervention at 213-740-0411 or can schedule an appointment through their website below.

The University health leave policy can be found in SCampus.
